Christmas Fun

We sure are having fun with all of the Christmas decorations and things to do!! We went to Bass Pro to get our picture taken with Santa. As usual, Anna was pretty laid back, and Grace thought Santa was going to eat her alive. This was our first Santa picture! We tried to get there as soon as they opened thinking we would beat the rush. Well, that didn’t work. The line was out the door waiting for the store to even open. Rookie mistake! We got in, and managed to get in the 2nd group who’s time slot was 10:30-11. 30 minutes, not a big deal. We were at the front of the group. Things seemed to be getting off to a slow start. Santa was wandering around talking to everyone. Mommy joked that the camera was probably broken. Then they made the announcement that the camera was broken and that anyone who wanted to use their own camera, could cut to the front of the line. We decided to hold out for the real deal because it was supposedly on its way. Mommy and Daddy stood there holding us for at least an hour. We get kinda heavy after an hour! It all turned out ok though and here is our picture. I think we made it worth it!!

Then we made our way around the store and found a cool saddle to pose on. We each took a turn, then rode on it together.

This is how pictures typically go with us….

Then after half a bazillion attempts, we get a keeper!

This past weekend we got to meet Cindy! The high school of the town she lives in went to the State Championships and they played at Cowboys Stadium so we got to check that out too. Anna loves watching football, and was pretty fascinated with the GIANT screen and she sat pretty still and quiet and watched the game. Grace was a little more hesitant. She wasn’t a big fan of all the loud noises and took a lot of snuggles to keep from a meltdown every time one of the teams did something good! She eventually warmed up a little bit. We walked around a little bit with Mommy and Daddy and stopped to pose for a picture before heading out.

Then we headed to Austin for a quick trip to meet some more family in Pflugerville. We did have a little time to play with Grampy.

Got some balloons from Central Market with Grammy.

Catch some light up snowflakes on our tongue.

And pose in Grammy and Grampy’s Nativity Scene!

Writer's Block

Our blog posts seem to be slacking off don’t they? We blame writer’s block and not enough free time! Sorry about that….we haven’t abandoned the blog totally!

Yesterday we turned 32 weeks! Some new things we have been up to….we are both sitting up really well now. We’ve tried LOTS of veggies. Mommy says we have cauliflower and broccoli left to go, and then we can try some fruit! Grace has two bottom teeth now and apparently is an excellent teether. We are both rolling in both directions and are both tummy sleepers. They tried to fight us on it, but we eventually won. Tummies it is! We make all sorts of new noises. Grace has a high pitched shriek that will make your brain rattle. Both of us like to suck in like we are gasping for air and scare the pants off Mommy. Grace was the first to learn that one and decided to test it out when Mommy came in to get her from bed one morning. She couldn’t keep a straight face though, so Mommy caught on pretty quick. Now when Anna coughs or sneezes she makes a cute little “whoooooooo” noise afterwards. So as to say, “Man, that was a good one!” We laugh all the time. Mommy and Daddy will just do anything to get us to laugh! Both of us are pretty ticklish, but Grace is EXTREMELY ticklish. She tightens up her tummy and makes funny noises when you tickle her. Both of us have ticklish legs. We will almost always laugh if you give us “haaarsey bites.” (That’s what Grampy says….AAAAARRRRRR….also heard in words like fark and carn)

Anna got her very first energy drink. Here she is opening the can…

And after she had a few swigs…

And now she’s addicted.

Anna got her helmet to correct her little noggin’.

She’s got positional plagiocephaly. Fancy speak for a flat spot. This was caused by her torticollis. Basically one of her neck muscles grew short in the womb causing her to look one direction more than others so we have to do stretches all day every day to loosen her up. This will get her to where she doesn’t look one direction more than the other. The helmet has to stay on 23 hours a day. Basically it stops the growth in certain spots, and encourages the spots that are flatter to grow and round out. Kind of like molding her head to be round. She doesn’t seem to mind the helmet too much. She isn’t too patient for taking it on and off, but that is probably because those times seem to coincide with changing in and out of pajamas, which is also usually around breakfast and dinner time and she’s already hungry, sleepy, or both! She does great with it otherwise though. It stopped her from sleeping on her tummy for a couple of weeks, but last night she figured it out and back onto her tummy she goes!

We just gone done with our first Thanksgiving. We spent it at Grammy & Grampy’s lake house. We had a lot of fun. Our Thanksgiving feast included squash, green beans and potatoes!

We seem to be getting closer to crawling. We can move around, but haven’t taken off just yet. Anna is a pro at throwing it in reverse. Mommy put us down for tummy time, and Anna decided to take an adventure off the carpet.

Mommy attempted to make some headbands and used us as models. What do you think?

Well, that about sums it up. We hope everyone has a Wonderful Christmas!!

Pumpkin Patch & Halloween!

We had a fun October! We really like Fall and all the fun activities that come with it! We started with our first trip to the Pumpkin Patch. They had a lot of little wooden cut outs to take pictures with. We plan on making this a yearly tradition, and here is a cool cut out to document how much we grow every year!

It was REALLY sunny that day, so it was really hard to look at the camera. But there are LOTS of pictures of the tops of our heads! Here are the tops of our heads with Papa Smurf.

This one was partly in the shade. Our first pumpkin patch!

Here are some more cutouts that we posed in.

And we took a family picture with Charlie Brown.

Mommy also started making us homemade baby food. Our first food was sweet potatoes. They didn’t go over so well. We eventually started accepting them and eating them, but it was a rough start. Anna HATED them.

“Seriously?”

We’ve also tried avocados (yum!) and our all time favorite, CARROTS!! We LOOOOOOOOOVE carrots. We open our mouths like little baby birds and Mommy and Daddy can’t shovel them in fast enough. They also make for some colorful diapers!

Another milestone…Grace started rolling from back to front. A lot of times Mommy and Daddy come in to her sleeping on her tummy. Sometimes it is an accident though and she screaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaams until someone comes to rescue her. She’s not so good at the front to back.

We are really starting to enjoy each other. We talk to each other and smile at each other. We are starting to be best friends!

We also had our first Halloween. Anna was a ladybug, and Grace was a bumblebee.

“Sister, you look funny.”

Here is us buzzin’ around Grampy.

Mommy’s Love Bugs

Grammy was helping Grace pick out some candy. She decided she wanted it all. A bowl full of candy sure is a lot of fun to play in.

Anna excited to be a ladybug

Daddy dressed up too. Does anyone watch Breaking Bad? Daddy was Heisenberg. Pretty close huh?

Halloween was a lot of fun and we can’t wait until next year when we can walk around and get into trouble….and maybe have a piece of candy or two.

Since Halloween, we’ve just been hangin’ out. Daddy got Anna dressed for the day this past weekend. He said that polka dots and polka dots match right? (WRONG)

Grace helped Daddy with some important business on his cell phone.

This past Saturday we attended our very first block party! It was pretty exciting as you can tell.

And today we turned 28 weeks old!

And here are just some random shots showing off our cuteness!
