Memorial Day, Pink Eye and Paintball!

Well it has been a crazy few weeks!  We went to Grammy and Grampy's house for the Memorial Day holiday and we got to see some family and eat some junk food and have lots of fun!  We got to the lake house on Saturday afternoon.  We almost didn't make it because Grace started running a pretty decent fever Friday afternoon.  She had been exposed to the flu earlier in the week so we took her to the doctor Saturday morning to see if it was really the flu or not.  Anna came along too because she'd just started a little cough and we wanted to be sure she wasn't coming down with it as well.  They checked Grace out who apparently just had some virus and didn't pay too much attention to her.  The doctor was however grilling Mommy about Anna's cough.  Turns out Anna was the sick one and the only one who ended up going home with antibiotics...cough medicine and amoxicillin for an ear infection.  We don't ever tell Mommy when our ears hurt....our ear infections just present themselves in weird forms (which you'll see later...).  But we were both tested for the flu and neither had it!  In fact, they did a blood test on Grace and she was on the mend.  By lunch time her fever was gone and she was almost back to normal by the end of the day so off to the lake house we went!

Not Sick

Sick

Make sense?  Mommy didn't think so either.

Sunday morning we took our traditional trip to eat pancakes!  Anna was enjoying showing Grammy and Grampy how she can scroll through pictures on an iPhone.

After our bellies were all filled it was off to church!  Anna conked out during the service.  Looks comfy huh?

Sunday afternoon/evening we had a big party with some family where Mommy failed to get ANY pictures.  She was a little busy trying to keep us out of trouble though.  But we did have fun.  We got to eat hamburgers and play and figure out how to open all the cabinets in the kitchen to help Grammy cook!  We got to see some family we'd never met before and that was Daddy's Aunt Jane and her hubby.  And we got to see Mommy's cousins Chris and his wife Jessica.  We were just sad to have to go to bed and leave the party!

Monday morning we just took it easy.  Mommy left Daddy in charge and went to take a nice long shower.  When she came back, we were eating potato chips and sitting in foldy chairs!  Daddy is WAY fun!  We'd never had chips before and boy were they yummy.

Things were a little quiet after our fun weekend which was good to give us time to recooperate!  We went on a little bargain hunting adventure.  Anna was BORED.

Which one does Mommy rescue - stuck on the stairs, or about to pull stuff off the coffee table?

Then a week later we are about to have 2 medicine free babies.  Anna's last dose of amoxicillin is Tuesday!  You would think it was chocolate syrup because oh the tears when she got the dropper of meds and Grace didn't!  Maybe Grace was trying to tell us something....

Looks like someone socked her in the face huh?  Well that is PINK EYE!  And do you know why she got pink eye?  Because she has a raging ear infection!  Mommy had no clue....she was not fussy, not pulling on her ears, sleeping just fine, no signs at all.  Apparently ear infections can present themselves through pink eye as a symptom.  NOT FUN!  So Mommy worked from home on Tuesday and decided to keep Anna home as well just in case.  The doc gave us enough eye drops for the whole family and we can go back to daycare 24 hours after we started meds, so Mommy was keeping a close eye on Anna since it is a bad time to miss work!  So what do you do to prevent pink eye from spreading?

Mommy was super proud of herself because out of 8 eyeballs in the family, the pink eye was contained to just one of Grace's eyes!  YAY!  Keeping us separate was not fun.  We didn't understand and kept sticking our fingers through to touch each other.  We think Mommy went through a whole can of Lysol, a bottle of antibacterial, and a bottle of soap in 1 day.

By this last weekend we were both healthy and ready to play!  Saturday we just hung out and played and ran some errands.

Anna had a little visitor by her feet.

Sunday was REALLY fun!  We went to our cousin Nick & Junior's birthday party at a paintball park!  Mommy thought she'd be funny and dress us up all in camo.  Turns out that we fit right in because everyone there was in camo!

We've had lots of fun adventures lately and can't wait to see what is next!  Father's Day is coming up this weekend so we are headed back to the lake house again.  We can't wait to see Grammy and Grampy!!  Until next time....
