Smiles & Poops!

Hopefully for Grace's sake, You Tube won't be around when she's a teenager....

16 Weeks & Other Happenings

Hello!  We are a little late on this post, but 2 weeks ago we turned 16 weeks!!!  We weren't too happy about getting so old, but with age comes wisdom and we are learning lots every day!  We are changing so fast!!

We are really starting to get interested in different things.  We still love to sit in our bumbos, especially when we can sit and watch Mickey Mouse Club!!  That is such a good show.  It really holds our attention.  Who doesn't love Mickey Mouse??  We even have on our Mickey outfits.

We are also really starting to notice and entertain each other.  I think we'll be best buds some day soon!

We have also really started to like tummy time.  At first it wasn't much fun, but now that we can hold our heads up so well, it is kind of fun to look around this way!

Anna was the first to roll over.  She did it last weekend for the first time.  She acted like it was no big deal.  She just got on her tummy and immediately flipped over like it was no big deal.  She didn't even flip out the first time she did it.  Now tummy time isn't too productive for her because she just flops right over.  Grace is still workin' on it.  Mommy read that it is a little harder for bigger babies because they have a lot more to flip over!  She's getting close though!

We are also approved by our doctor to start some solids, but Mommy & Daddy didn't think we were quite ready so they want to wait a little.  Plus we hadn't been showing any of the signs that we were ready for that.  Until yesterday that is.  Grace was absolutely fascinated by Daddy's hamburger.  She couldn't take her eyes off of it.  She didn't seem to know what to do with it when offered (don't worry, they wouldn't really let her eat it!) but that is the first she's ever shown interest in real food.

We also finally got to meet Daddy's friend Juan last weekend.  Juan was fortunate enough to get his picture taken with us at bed time, and we aren't particularly very happy babies in the evenings.  There is just so much going on around us that we just don't want to miss a thing.  Then by night time, we are exhausted.  But we don't give Mommy & Daddy any trouble going to sleep these days.  We've even slept through the night a few times!

So there is a quick update for you!  We are excited about all of our new followers.  Hello to our favorite Aunts Mary & Jennifer!!  Also we noticed that the Toothfairie found our blog too!  We will grow some tooths for you soon...you can already see all of the drool in some of our pictures.  And Hello to Jenny!  We hope your brand new baby boy is doing well!!

The End!

2 Weeks Worth...

We missed our update last week, so we are going to cram 2 weeks into this one!

2 weeks ago, we met some of Mommy & Daddy’s friends, Carl & Jo Dawn. They brought over a whole bunch of good food, and of course we couldn’t eat it, so we had to throw a big fit and make sure we could sit at the table with the adults so we could see what was going on. They had pizza and pasta and salad and bread from Salernos….we can’t wait until we can eat big people food!! Here is us with Carl & Jo Dawn.

The next Saturday morning we just took it easy and ran some errands. We did our Saturday morning tv watching ritual with Daddy. We just love sitting in our bumbos while watching house shows!!

After that, we had some tummy time. We are getting really close to rolling over, but we usually get really mad and have to be rescued before we actually do it. Soon though!!

After tummy time we ran some errands with Mommy & Daddy in the minivan. We got to have a little picnic under the trees because we got hungry while they were out. The van sure makes a nice little place to change and eat! Grace got her first driving lesson, but she quickly realized that her feet don’t quite reach the pedals (and her arms probably don’t reach the steering wheel, but she was mainly concerned about those feet).

After all the excitement of the day, we took a quick nap in our bumbos! It doesn’t look all that comfortable, but we can assure you it is.

After our nap we tried out one of our new toys for the first time – the walker! Our feet just barely reach the platform, but with a little help staying straight in the chair, we love it!

Later in the week, we got a surprise visit from Dottie and Russell! They brought their daughter Emma with them. She is going to show us the ropes some day when we are old enough to go camping. Maybe next summer! She always tells us how “pwecious” we are. Also Grace is referred to as "the purple one." She was also very concerned about Anna’s “boo-boo.” Mommy’s conversation with her went a little something like this:

Emma: She has boo-boo?
Mommy: It’s not a boo-boo, it’s a birthmark.
Emma: Birf mott?
Mommy: Yes, birth mark.
Emma: Runs off to get a toy and comes right back.
Emma: (pointing to Anna’s leg) boo-boo?
Mommy: Birth mark. Touch it, it is soft.
Emma: NO (immediately touches birth mark)
Emma: boo-boo?......

This past weekend we got to make a quick trip to Austin to see where Mommy grew up! We helped Mommy and Daddy pack and get on the road by screaming our heads off and making them leave much later than planned. When we got in, we had a quick dinner at Torchy’s before Mommy’s friend Diana and her family stopped by. Diana has 2 boys, Daniel and Dustin. Dustin is 7 weeks younger than we are. This is the first time we’ve been around a baby that was smaller than we are! We are jealous of all that hair!! Grace is starting to look like a cue-ball.

Babies babies everywhere!

One for each of them!

After they left, we hung out with Daddy for a minute before it was off to bed!

The next morning we were up bright and early for church! Here is Grace restin’ up before the church service. I think Mommy and Daddy were a little nervous about how we’d do, but we did GREAT! We looooooooove the music they play and as long as we can dance with Mommy and Daddy, we might be able to be entertained forever!

After a quick lunch, we helped Mommy and Daddy pack up by screaming our heads off again and making them take turns getting stuff together. It is so fun to watch them scramble when we team up on them! We ended up helping them be a little late to the party. Hehehehe. We had a lot of fun at the party though! We got to meet our cousin Chad and his wife Amanda.

We also got to meet our Great Aunt Barbara. She told us that when we turn 7, she’ll babysit! And we got to hang out with our Great Grandma again. Here is a cool picture of us with Mommy, Grandmommy and Great Grandmommy! 4 generations!! Also, the chair that Great Grandmommy is sitting in was a rocking chair that she was rocked in when she was a baby. Pretty cool to have a picture of Great Grandmommy Anna, holding baby Anna in a chair she was rocked in as a baby.

That about wraps up the past 2 weeks of our lives! We leave you with some random cute shots of us…..
