Family and Bumbos!

Well, we decided to cooperate and let Mom get a picture of us both smiling.  Aren't we so cute??

This weekend we got to meet some more family!  We got to meet our Great Aunt Dot, Great Uncle Al, 2nd Cousin Mimi and 3rd cousins Hannah and Daniel.  Grace really enjoyed snuggling with Aunt Dot.

Hannah and Mimi made us these CUTE winter hats.  And this picture doesn't show it, but we really do love them!  It is just that it is over 100 degrees outside, and we really didn't think that was the best time to model winter hats.

Mommy and Daddy got us Bumbos this weekend!!  It was quite an adventure too, but well worth it in the end.  We learned a few good lessons on the way too.  We started with one Bumbo, and it was so great, they had to go on the hunt for a second one.  We got them from Once Upon a Child, a resale shop.  They have practically brand new Bumbos for a fraction of the cost ($15 as opposed to $35 or $40!!)  Mommy and Daddy are teaching us to be thrifty.  We had to visit 4 stores to find the second one.  We also learned the value of good customer service.  The first store had a pretty pink Bumbo, but the "manager" was so rude that we took our business elsewhere.  This is the One Upon a Child in Flower Mound if anyone wants to know.  I don't think they'll be getting Mommy and Daddy's business again.  Then we went on a looooooooong car ride to get to the one in Grapevine who didn't have a single Bumbo in stock.  That is where we learned the importance of calling ahead.  Then we checked out Kidd to Kidd, another resale shop in our area, but their prices were almost the same as a brand new one, so that was kind of pointless.  We learned the value of shopping around.  Finally we called ahead to the Carrollton store and they told us they had bunches of Bumbos in all different colors!  The manager of that store was really really nice.  We got a practically brand new blue Bumbo there.  The lady also noticed that we are military babies so we got a discount too!  And because of that, we also ended up with a walker.  We got a Bumbo and a walker for less than the price of one new Bumbo!  It pays to shop around (and to have a tough Marine for a Daddy)!

Grace looooooooooves watching tv in her Bumbo.  Here she is watching Yard Crashers with Daddy.  They are learning how to build us a swimming pool.  Hopefully Daddy doesn't come home with a little pink shovel and tell us to start digging!

And here is Anna...."Happy to be Me" while in full on meltdown mode.  The shirt is a little ironic, no?

And here is both of us just relaxing naked in our Bumbos.  It is waaaaaaay too hot to be wearing clothes!  We like playing with our burp cloths while we are sitting in them.

Well, those were our weekend adventures.  I hope you enjoyed our update!

THE END.

12 Weeks!

Yep, we are 12 weeks old as of yesterday!!

Aren't we getting so big?  You'll notice in the picture our new favorite toys/pacifiers.  Our Wubanubs!!  We LOVE them.  They are supposed to keep those darn pacifiers from popping out of our mouths, but don't believe the reviews...they don't work.  But they are SO much fun to grab a hold of, and sometimes a wing or a leg works just as well as the pacifier part.

Grace with Mommy & Her Wubanub

We had a great weekend.  Saturday Mommy had to work so we got to spend the WHOLE day with Daddy!  We tried to be easy on him, but as our babysitter says, we are "new" so we can be a little fussy sometimes.  Daddy tried really hard to keep us happy though, and we think he did a great job.  He certainly tried really hard to find where we wanted to sit.  When Mommy came home, the living room looked like this:

And you can't see them, but there are also 2 bouncy chairs in the kitchen!  It was a fun day for sure!

Sunday morning was fun too.  We went to Sunday School with Mommy & Daddy.  Grace had a few words to add to the lesson, but the Wubanub helped us out.  We really enjoy going with Mommy and Daddy because we get LOTS of attention, and LOTS of lovin' from everyone.  And we especially love Mary.  She makes all sorts of goofy sounds and goofy faces and we just grin at her.  Our cheeks were sore when we left Sunday School from all the grinning!  Mommy will have to remember to take pictures next time!

Sunday evening we went and had dinner with the Rabadeuxs from church.  They have 2 boys, Jackson and Colton and boy are they cute!  Again...missed photo opportunity.  Mom is going to have to get better at this picture business!  But we were pretty well behaved.  Anna slept through dinner which never happens, but Grace wanted to be in the middle of it all.  Tiffany held on to Grace and Mommy and Daddy actually both got to eat with 2 hands!!  It was a lot of fun over there and we are looking forward to hanging out with them all again soon.  It was fun watching Colton, who is almost 1 year old.  We can't wait until we are moving around like that!  Then 8:00pm rolled around and we both turned into little screaming monsters like we always do around that time of night, so it was time to go!

Next weekend we are looking forward to meeting some more of our family.  More pictures coming soon!!

First attempt at a movie upload...

We are just testing this out, hopefully it works!!YouTube Video

The First Post

Hi Everyone!  This is Anna & Grace and we made this blog so we can document our lives and so our family and friends can see what we are up to as well.  First, a quick run down of what we've been up to since we came into this world on April 25, 2011.

We were born about 6 weeks early, so we got to spend some time at the hospital in the NICU.  Here is a picture of us with all our fancy cords and tubes right when we were first born!

Grace Abigail - 4lb 10oz

 Anna Rose - 4lb 1oz

And here is a picture of one of the first times we got to take a nap together (outside of Mommy's tummy of course).

And here is the first picture of the 4 of us all home from the hospital!

Since then, we've been getting into all sorts of adventures.  People always ask if one wakes up when the other cries.  Mommy caught a good picture of us to answer that question.

We had our first swim in our friend Nacho & Diana's swimming pool.  It was a lot of fun, but we didn't really prefer the way our diapers swelled up like water balloons.

We've started our new "school" and we really like it.  We have a lot of fun during the day and are completely exhausted when we get picked up in the evenings.  Sometimes we can be a little cranky, and most of the time, we make Mommy and Daddy eat one handed.  Sometimes they outsmart us though.  They are getting pretty good at the one-handed thing!

I guess that brings us to this past weekend.  We got to stay home with Mommy and Daddy this weekend.  It was a nice relaxing weekend!  We discovered that we really like Veggie Tales and thankfully Netflix shows a bunch of them!  But we slept a little too much during the day, and kept Mommy and Daddy up that night.  Here is Anna at 4am....having a BLAST!

But then when it was time to get up, we were both really sleepy and took a nice little nap together.

As the day wore on and we were still really sleepy, Mommy tried really hard to keep us awake.  Grace got to sneak in a little nap when Mommy had to run upstairs to grab some more diapers.

Well, that brings us up to date!  We will make sure we keep taking pictures and updating everyone on our lives!
