Memorial Day, Pink Eye and Paintball!

Well it has been a crazy few weeks!  We went to Grammy and Grampy's house for the Memorial Day holiday and we got to see some family and eat some junk food and have lots of fun!  We got to the lake house on Saturday afternoon.  We almost didn't make it because Grace started running a pretty decent fever Friday afternoon.  She had been exposed to the flu earlier in the week so we took her to the doctor Saturday morning to see if it was really the flu or not.  Anna came along too because she'd just started a little cough and we wanted to be sure she wasn't coming down with it as well.  They checked Grace out who apparently just had some virus and didn't pay too much attention to her.  The doctor was however grilling Mommy about Anna's cough.  Turns out Anna was the sick one and the only one who ended up going home with antibiotics...cough medicine and amoxicillin for an ear infection.  We don't ever tell Mommy when our ears hurt....our ear infections just present themselves in weird forms (which you'll see later...).  But we were both tested for the flu and neither had it!  In fact, they did a blood test on Grace and she was on the mend.  By lunch time her fever was gone and she was almost back to normal by the end of the day so off to the lake house we went!

Not Sick

Sick

Make sense?  Mommy didn't think so either.

Sunday morning we took our traditional trip to eat pancakes!  Anna was enjoying showing Grammy and Grampy how she can scroll through pictures on an iPhone.

After our bellies were all filled it was off to church!  Anna conked out during the service.  Looks comfy huh?

Sunday afternoon/evening we had a big party with some family where Mommy failed to get ANY pictures.  She was a little busy trying to keep us out of trouble though.  But we did have fun.  We got to eat hamburgers and play and figure out how to open all the cabinets in the kitchen to help Grammy cook!  We got to see some family we'd never met before and that was Daddy's Aunt Jane and her hubby.  And we got to see Mommy's cousins Chris and his wife Jessica.  We were just sad to have to go to bed and leave the party!

Monday morning we just took it easy.  Mommy left Daddy in charge and went to take a nice long shower.  When she came back, we were eating potato chips and sitting in foldy chairs!  Daddy is WAY fun!  We'd never had chips before and boy were they yummy.

Things were a little quiet after our fun weekend which was good to give us time to recooperate!  We went on a little bargain hunting adventure.  Anna was BORED.

Grace trying to put on her shoe.

Which one does Mommy rescue - stuck on the stairs, or about to pull stuff off the coffee table?

Then a week later we are about to have 2 medicine free babies.  Anna's last dose of amoxicillin is Tuesday!  You would think it was chocolate syrup because oh the tears when she got the dropper of meds and Grace didn't!  Maybe Grace was trying to tell us something....

Looks like someone socked her in the face huh?  Well that is PINK EYE!  And do you know why she got pink eye?  Because she has a raging ear infection!  Mommy had no clue....she was not fussy, not pulling on her ears, sleeping just fine, no signs at all.  Apparently ear infections can present themselves through pink eye as a symptom.  NOT FUN!  So Mommy worked from home on Tuesday and decided to keep Anna home as well just in case.  The doc gave us enough eye drops for the whole family and we can go back to daycare 24 hours after we started meds, so Mommy was keeping a close eye on Anna since it is a bad time to miss work!  So what do you do to prevent pink eye from spreading?

Mommy was super proud of herself because out of 8 eyeballs in the family, the pink eye was contained to just one of Grace's eyes!  YAY!  Keeping us separate was not fun.  We didn't understand and kept sticking our fingers through to touch each other.  We think Mommy went through a whole can of Lysol, a bottle of antibacterial, and a bottle of soap in 1 day.

By this last weekend we were both healthy and ready to play!  Saturday we just hung out and played and ran some errands.

Anna had a little visitor by her feet.

Sunday was REALLY fun!  We went to our cousin Nick & Junior's birthday party at a paintball park!  Mommy thought she'd be funny and dress us up all in camo.  Turns out that we fit right in because everyone there was in camo!

Can you see that GIANT mosquito on Anna's hand?

Us and Mommy

We've had lots of fun adventures lately and can't wait to see what is next!  Father's Day is coming up this weekend so we are headed back to the lake house again.  We can't wait to see Grammy and Grampy!!  Until next time....

What we have been up to since turning ONE!

Wow...time sure does get away from us quickly!  We are so busy getting into all sorts of trouble fun that its hard to find time to stop and write about our days!  We are both crawling around, and FAST.  Grace is probably going to walk first...she can pull up on anything and one handed even!  Plus this past weekend she learned to climb (EEK).
Climbing - Forget safety first...where's the camera!
Took all of 2 seconds to unload a roll of shop towels that were not as out of reach as Mommy thought.
We had our first Easter which was tons of fun.  We dressed up as little bunny rabits and got Easter baskets from Grammy and Grampy.  Maybe next Easter we can eat chocolate instead of carrots.

We got to swing on our own for the very first time.

Chasing the cat (and sometimes cornering her) is one of our favorite things to do.

Mommy got this cool little splash pad for us to play on because we love bath time so much.  It was a little chilly for our taste, but watching the water from Mommy's lap was fun!!  I don't think Mommy had intended to get more wet than us, but a few tears, and into the pool Mommy went!

We had our first birthday party on April 22nd and our family came to spoil us rotten!  We had such a good time and love all of our new toys.  One of our favorites is this ladybug we can push around on the floor.  It is also Mommy's favorite because it has no volume button and is super loud.  Thanks Aunt Mary!!  Mommy says she'll be sure to pay you back with something equally as cool for your boys!!  We also had our first cake!  We liked scraping the icing off the cake the best.  It was a great 1st birthday party!!

The kids got Grampy in Baby Jail!
After our first birthday, we stopped bottles and formula cold turkey.  It was a little rough the first couple of days.  That milk is COLD and the sippies were a little frustrating, but soon we figured out that sippies can make a wonderful mess when thrown on the floor.  We are eating food and drinking from our sippies like old pros now.  It is fun to go to restaurants and get kids meals!

We spent the weekend at the lake house for Grammy's birthday.  We got to take our very first boat ride.  It was a little noisy and windy, but within seconds we both conked right out.

We've been having some daycare drama.  Apparently Grace has made some enemies....or vampires are after her.  We aren't sure which.  Luckily it seems to have stopped for the time being.  We missed getting a picture of the first bite on the back of her arm, but here are the rest of them with the last one being the grand finale.

On Mother's Day we took Mommy to the Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie!  It was so much fun.  There were lots of cool costumes and music and people watching and we even split a turkey leg with Mommy!  She said this Mother's day was a billion percent better than last Mother's Day!  Grace had just come home from the hospital, but Anna was still in the NICU.  That was rough!  Who would have thought that 1 year later we'd all be sharing a turkey leg.
Daddy made sure the turkey leg was in the picture
Snack time during the bird show
Things really have changed so much in the past year.  It is so much fun to be able to get out and do more stuff.  Being mobile is definitely keeping Mommy and Daddy on their toes.  We got this cool toy over the weekend and Grace was giving free train rides!  Its tons of fun!!

So that is all we have to report for now.  Until next time!!

We are BACK!

Oh hi there.....remember that time when we posted that we were going to start project 366 and then you didn't hear from us for 3 months?  OOPS.  So forget project 366....it was too daunting, although we have been taking daily pictures and keeping them on Mommy's phone!  We won't make the blog all about it this year, but possibly do a monthly update?  I don't know....we'll see!

SO....here is a picture dump of the past 3 months.  Most of the time we do the same things Monday through Friday so there are a lot of random pictures of us and all of our cuteness, but a few noteworthy things we'll point out as we go along.  Here we go!

January 1 we got to meet our cousin Katie for the first time!!  January 2 we turned 36 weeks!  January 3 Anna had her helmet appointment.  January 9 we were officially famous and showed up in the UMHB Alumni Magazine.  And then I'm pretty sure anywhere from 1-4 of us were sick at all times until just a couple of weeks ago!

January 13 Daddy came home to tell us all about his day.  January 15 Dottie, Russell and Emma came to visit us!  January 29 someone told Anna that Santa wasn't coming back for 11 more Months.  January 21 was our very first babysitter ever!  Rachel let Mommy and Daddy go on a date!  January 23 Mommy and Daddy started working out (that lasted 1 day).  January 24 we had our well-visit.

January 25th we got 5 inches of rain in 1 day!  January 26th we started eating those little rice puff things.  Januay 27th we started eating cell phones....oh wait....we've always done that.  January 29th we finally got to see water in the lake again!  January 30th Mommy lost her job (wonk wonk).

February 1 we turned 40 weeks!  February 3rd Mommy had an interview with LaQuinta (we thought the old "Stanley" parked in front was a sign - it wasn't).  February 4th we lost our Great Grammy (even though it looks like Anna sleeping with M&M's).  February 7th we went to Salado for the viewing/funeral.  Daddy took a picture of this picture that was on display at the viewing.  That is Great Grammy Anna.  We think she looks a whole lot like Great Granddaughter Anna!!  February 8 was our first morning in a hotel.  We did great!  February 10 we got new jackets for our upcoming Chicago trip.  Fits great huh?  February 11 Mommy took our Valentines Day picture!  February 12 Mommy found a new reason to love going to Lowe's.

Things slowed down a bit the 2nd half of February (thankfully!!).  We just did a lot of playing with Mommy while she was off work.  February 16 was Anna's last helmet appointment.  She's all done with that now.  YAY!  February 23 Anna was going to clear Grace's boogies for her.  And on the 24th she was checking Grace for pooies.  Such a helpful big sister!

February 27th we turned 44 weeks!

March 1 Anna helped Mommy pack for our big Chicago/Indiana trip and fell asleep in the middle of the floor!  March 2 was our first plane ride ever.  (little did we know what we were in for!!)  March 3 swimming in our hotel swimming pool.  March 4 we met Nate and Jen and their kiddos Reagen, Reese and Riley.  March 6 we saw the Great Lakes.  March 7 we came home (rough trip...very sick babies that probably had the flu - sorry to the people on our airplanes!!).  March 8 back to the babysitter while Mommy and Daddy took advantage of some quiet time!  Did you know Macaroni Grill lets you take your unfinished wine to-go??  March 10 the very first baby ear infection.  Grace got put on meds - pretty good making it to almost 11 months without an ear infection or antibiotics!  March 12 Mommy painted our toes for the first time.

March 13 Grace learned to play the Play Station.  March 15 Anna did a little painting in the nude.  March 16 - Grace LOVES those Wubanubs!!  March 17th St. Patty's Day Pigtails!  March 19 Mommy started her new job - YAY!  March 23 Grace pulled a Troy Palomalo.

March 25 we went to Whiskey Cake for Mommy & Daddy's birthdays.  March 26 we turned 48 weeks!  March 27 we sold the dining room table.

That about brings us up to date.  Hopefully we won't be so absent now that things are settling back into a routine.  Here are the past 3 growth pictures.

We are both officially crawling now and often one of us is the distraction while the other gets into trouble.  Perfect example would be last weekend when Grace decided to try out her teeth on Mommy while Anna removed the cover off of the outlet (which by the way - DO NOT get the kind with the little pop out buttons.  They are no problem for us to get out without hardly even trying!).  We are loving being able to chase (and corner) the cat and finding anything and everything to put into our mouths.

So here is a little look back for you and some outtakes for getting the 48 week picture!

(Picture #1 Grace tries to get the thermometer on the sly - Picture #2 Success!! - Picture #3 Daddy swoops in to save the thermometer)

(Mommy put us on the wrong sides of the chair in the last 2.  Oops!)

Happy Spring Everyone!!
